There's
a new and exciting adventure waiting for you
every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 4pm at Camp Menehune! A
full day is $60 for the first child and $45 for each additional child, half day is $45 for the first child and $30 for each additional child and all include
lunch*. Camp Menehune accepts off-property guests for a rate of
$70 or $55 for half-day, inclusive of lunch and snacks. Drop-By activities
are complimentary to hotel guests and are in the Menehune
Recreation Room, second floor of Ocean Tower. Check

THE ANIMALS OF HAWAII
|
| Get ready for a day of hands-on fun. Learn about the indigenous, endemic and introduced animals of Hawaii. Picture taking with the parrots, feeding the koi fish and searching for secret ponds that are the home to the indigenous opae ula (shrimp) are on today's agenda. Our counselors will share legends of aumakua (family guardians). |

Tuesday
THE LEGACY OF PELE
|
|
Learn about the formation of the islands and the ancient uses of the lava rock, including petroglyphs, konane boards and Hawaiian salt making. We'll go hiking to search for ancient petroglyphs that are found on property. We'll make a clay volcano that actually erupts. The counselors will share legends of Pele (the goddess of the volcano) and how she came to the island of Hawaii.

Wednesday
THE LIFESTYLE OF LAWAI'A (FISHING)
|
| Hawaiian fisherman used many styles of fishing. You will learn about their art of fishing and experience bamboo pole fishing firsthand. Bring your net to catch some shrimp to use as bait. Our counselors will teach you about hukilau, a traditional Hawaiian family effort of fishing together. You'll learn about legends of the Kamapua'a and the humuhumunukunukuapua'a. |

THE CULTURAL ARTS OF HAWAII |
| Tapa cloth making, lei making, bamboo stamping, ulu maika are all ancient arts that you will learn today. We'll dance hula and go on a hike to search for coconut fronds to make a coconut frond fish. Our counselors will share legends of King Kamehameha with you. |
